The Global Investment Control department directly supports Capital Group's investment professionals, implements investment decisions and facilitates the investment process. Operating from locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, core functions include order management, portfolio construction and compliance, trade support, corporate action communication and coordination, and proxy services, among others. These services support the management of equity and fixed income portfolios for retail, institutional and private clients.

 

As an Analyst based in Los Angeles, CA, you will play a critical role on the Portfolio Implementation and Compliance team focusing on overseeing clients' accounts and funds, processing and managing investment orders, and overseeing client compliance issues and guidelines. This individual acts as a liaison between the Investment Group and Trading, and works closely with other departments including Marketing, Legal, Client Services, Accounting and other operations teams.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for fund/client accounts to ensure they are properly constructed with respect to portfolio convictions and remain in compliance with established guidelines
  • Support the Principal Investment Officer on the effective management of fund/mandates
  • Serve as a resource for multiple departments on client/investment queries
  • Participates in and / or leads projects and initiatives as requested by management

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of finance or investment operations experience
  • Undergraduate degree required; knowledge of investment management industry or working towards CFA certification preferred
  • Displays high level of accuracy and attention to detail with high service orientation, integrity, ownership of work
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, analytical skills and sound judgment in resolving matters of complexity
  • Possesses a high degree of technical aptitude and seeks to learn new skills. Demonstrates the ability to apply those skills to improve business processes.
  • Intermediate to Advanced technical skills preferred. Ex: Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables, macros etc.), Tableau, Alteryx, and VBA, etc.
  • Demonstrates awareness of strengths and areas for improvement and seeks opportunities for development
